February’s Proud to Serve recipient is Albert Nelson, an Marine Corp veteran who completed two, back-to-back tours in Vietnam. Coming home at a time when “support the troops” was not a common refrain, Mr. Nelson never allowed negativity to impact his commitment to helping others. A kind and thoughtful neighbor and valued member of a large extended family, Mr. Nelson always keeps in his memories those who were not able to return home from Vietnam.
