With spring upon, the weather warming and summer around the corner, more an d more motorcycle riders are hitting the roads. To help protect riders and prevent motorcycle crashes, federal transportation regulators and safety advocates have dedicated the month of May as Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month.
Elaborating on this, U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx has explained1 that:
Motorcyclists will be out in force as the weather gets warmer, which is why May is the perfect month for Motorcycle Safety Awareness…Fatal crashes with motorcycles are on the rise. We all need to be more aware of motorcyclists in order to save lives and make sure we all ‘Share the Road.’
Supporting this cause, we at Brown & Brown are presenting the following infographic, which features some of the latest findings about the rate and causes of motorcycle crashes in the U.S.
