Every month, Brown & Brown provides a check to be awarded to the recipient of Proud to Serve. This month’s recipient is East Side volunteer firefighter, Austen Baker. First volunteering when he was a sophomore in high school – and only 16-years-old – Austen has now responded to more calls than any other volunteer at the East Side fire department. Driven by a sense of duty to his community, Austen also loves the comradery and relationships he has been able to build with his fellow volunteers, firefighters, and first-responders.
