Proud to Serve, a segment on Fox 2 News in St. Louis, highlights local military veterans and first responders who have given both to our community and to our country. Located in St. Louis, Brown & Brown is proud to support this recognition of men and women who have made a difference at home and throughout the world.
Every month, Brown & Brown awards a check to the recipient of Proud to Serve. This month’s recipient is Michael “Bare Hands” Beran, a 20-year Navy Veteran now known for daring animal rescues featured on the program Wildlife Command Center on The Discovery Channel. Mr. Beran founded and oversees the Wildlife Command Center in Imperial, Missouri.
A self-described “old country boy from the swamps of Louisiana,” Mr. Beran has always been driven to work with animals. He is donating his Proud to Serve award to the nonprofit, Raptor Rescue, Inc. Learn more about this local hero in the video below.
