Proud to Serve, a segment on Fox 2 News in St. Louis, highlights local military veterans and first responders who have given both to our community and to our country. Located in St. Louis, Brown & Brown is proud to support this recognition of men and women who have made a difference at home and throughout the world.
Every month, Brown & Brown provides a check to be awarded to the recipient of Proud to Serve. This month’s recipient is Army Veteran, Henry Allen. Sergeant Allen served in Korea and Vietnam, returning to civilian life after 20-years of service. He now works with the Concordance Academy of Leadership, a nonprofit reentry program that helps ex-offenders adjust to independent living after incarceration. The academy assists with job opportunities, housing, and other issues that often place obstacles in the way of men and women transitioning back into society. To this end, he has founded what he calls the Henry Allen Driver School, where he helps participants obtain state IDs, birth certificates, and related documentation needed to obtain a driver's license.
Mr. Allen's tireless dedication to assisting those who are often overlooked has helped countless men and women find success after serving their terms. A hero and inspiration to the entire community, even at 77, he is committed to continuing this work. Learn more about this local hero in the short video below.
